Injury Post-Rehabilitation
Learn the exercises that are safe for you to perform in order to stay strong, explosive, and athletic – without causing further damage and while reducing the risk of further injury.
Are you an athlete that has suffered an injury that has changed the way you train? Is being unable to perform your favorite exercises causing you to miss workouts and see less results?
Have you recently completed physical therapy and are unsure of what to do next?
Are you trying to lose fat and improve your fitness but don’t know where to start because of pre-existing limitations or injuries?
I know how you feel and I’ve been there before. I partially tore my right acetabular labrum in 2011 and have had to modify my training plan ever since. Since that time, I’ve visited several doctors, physical therapists, and chiropractors in an effort to improve. I’ve also spent countless hours on research through textbooks, seminars, DVDs, and participation in research studies. Fortunately, I’m now able to train hard and enjoy working out again.
As a result, I’ve helped numerous others to train hard around an existing injury or condition. Our clients learn the proper regressions and progressions for every exercise pattern and can modify a program to fit almost any limitation. Often times, my clients will reduce pain while getting stronger and more mobile. They’ve enjoyed great results without having to “suck it up” or train through pain. You can too.
Remember, you never have to train through pain.

What is Injury Post-Rehabilitation?
The goal of post-rehab training is to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and physical fitness. During this process, communication between the medical team and the fitness professional is vital to success. Post-rehab is not a replacement for physical therapy or medical care. All clients require medical clearance before beginning a post-rehab exercise program.
Many times, people are released from physical therapy or medical care without knowing what to do next. In these situations, working with an experienced and knowledgeable fitness professional is the perfect solution.
The Training Process
All members start with a Functional Movement Screen (FMS). The FMS is a 7-step test that determines your injury risk. It also reveals any movement asymmetries and limitations. Afterwards, we will go through any extra assessments or movements in order to truly understand your situation and needs.
Communication between your medical professionals and fitness professionals is key to the success of a post-rehab program. As such, I will contact your doctor, chiropractor, or physical therapist to discuss your situation before beginning the exercise program.

What Our Customers Are Saying
Hear from people just like you!
It is a pleasure to recommend Devin Gray. He has proven invaluable to me in adjusting to some challenging medical issues.
He took the time to call my doctor and research my medical problems and then developed a custom fitness program that worked for me.
He is both knowledgeable and personable – qualities that are not often found in all personal trainers. I highly recommend Devin Gray if you want a customized and skilled work-out plan.
The thing I appreciate most about Devin is the ample amount of time and effort he puts into my plans and goals. I have had results that have completely changed my athletic career for the better.
In less than 3 months he was able to fix an ongoing injury I have had for over 4 years. I have yet to re-injure my hip and my overall mobility, balance, flexibility, nutrition, etc. is better than ever.
I can honestly say I have yet to be disappointed with a session, workout, or any other element of Devin’s work with me. My results are unbelievable and I only wish I started earlier!
I was recently told by a doctor that the training I did with Devin most likely saved me from a season ending injury.
As an athlete this is one of the most important aspects of training. I could not ask for more out of a personal trainer or thank him enough for getting me ready for college lacrosse, and most importantly, improving my overall athletic performance.
As a life long competitive equestrian, I always understood the value of fitness and regular, correct exercises for the horses that I ride and compete, but it wasn’t until I reached middle age that I understood how much it could help my own riding skills and performance.
I have worked with Personal Trainers for the last five years, but a change in circumstances brought me to Devin Gray in July 2013. Devin designed a progressive, always changing training program for me using kettlebells, bands and weighted medicine balls that has helped my competitive riding immensely!
My training program with Devin has not only made me stronger, but it has enhanced my endurance, my body alignment, my balance on the horse and allows my legs, arms and core to work independently from each other which is key to riding horses correctly.
Even my riding coach has noticed the difference in my fitness, strength and posture.
My horses currently live out of state so I am not able to practice on my horses regularly, Devin’s program allows me to meet my horses at the competitions and walk in the show ring with a strong body and the confidence to compete.
And as an added bonus, I received a “keep it up, your numbers are looking great” from my personal physician at my annual physical in November.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer physical therapy or medical services?
No. Rehabilitation, diagnosis, etc. are outside of our scope of practice. We simply help people transition back to a healthy lifestyle after physical therapy, chiropractic care, or a chronic limitation.
For example, we help clients with long-term knee injuries learn how to work out effectively. They often reduce their pain, regain range of motion, and feel better in the process.
Many physical therapists, doctors, and chiropractors are unaware of the best ways to exercise and cannot give effective exercise advice. It’s OK, they have plenty to learn in their own field and expertise. We noticed a severe need for this type of service and feel it’s our duty to provide it.
Do you offer One-Time Consultations?
Yes, we do.
The price for a One-Time Consultation is $149. This includes the full assessment, a review session, and a longer, more detailed list of our recommendations. It may require a second visit, as it can take a few hours or days to analyze and type up the results of an assessment.
As an example, we performed a one-time consultation with a local crossfit athlete that had injured himself training. We performed an assessment, identified weaknesses and muscle imbalances, and then taught him how to modify his WODs while he addressed his imbalances. As a result, he was able to still train hard – but safer and more effectively than before.
Call 508-507-9008 or e-mail devin@optimizefp.com to schedule your One-Time Consultation with Devin.
Do you offer free sessions?
No, we do not offer free sessions. Here’s why we offer free Strategy Sessions and Personalized Action Plans instead:
Simply put, it’s impossible to deliver a great coaching session without performing an assessment first. We’d be just guessing, and we don’t want to waste your time like that.
The Strategy Session includes a detailed movement and abilities assessment. It gives us all of the information that we need to write a great workout plan.
In fact, nobody works out here without an assessment. This is what keeps our injury rate so much lower than the competition.
How is Semi-Private Training different from Private Training?
Simply put, we think that private training is too expensive and counterproductive after a few weeks. Virtually every sport, medical treatment, and learning experience is conducted in groups. It keeps prices down and builds a strong community. It also increases independence and your confidence in the gym.
Semi-Private Training is you and up to 3 other people, all working with a coach. Each person has their own unique program. You could be working out with a grandmother, a collegiate athlete, and a working mom – but all on your own 100% personalized programs.
It’s more affordable than private training too. We dropped our prices by 33% when we switched from 1 on 1 to semi-private training. We find that people get better results because you’re motivated and inspired by the people around you.
Is Semi-Private the same as Small Group Classes?
No! Absolutely not. Many coaches try to disguise small group training as personal training, when they really just offer classes. Semi-Private Training is personal training, but you’re sharing the gym and coach with up to 3 other people.
When you come in, you’ll grab your personalized program and jump right into your workout. A coach is on hand to guide you through every step of the way. The coach will spend time with each member as needed. New members and those performing more technical exercises will receive priority.
We do offer a large group training program in a class format, but we include assessments, customized warm ups, and individualized regressions and progressions. That’s a separate program from Semi-Private entirely.
Do I have to commit to 12 months?
No, we also offer a 3-month commitment for $40 per session.
- Basic Package – $225 per month (instead of $200)
- Standard Package – $385 per month (instead of $290)
- Rapid Results Package – $545 per month (instead of $480)
- Elite Package – $705 per month (instead of $620)
As you can see, a 12-month commitment is the better value.
You can upgrade from a 3-month commitment to a 12-month commitment at any time.
What is your refund policy?
We offer a full refund during the 30-day trial and within 7 days of beginning a training membership. After that, there is an early cancellation fee for all agreements.
Our goal has always been to create a happy, thriving community. If you are not thrilled with the product or are not enjoying the experience, then we have no interest in forcing you to stay an unhappy member.
