1. Beginners Who Want to Learn How to Strength Train
Over the years, I’ve developed a system that works perfectly for teaching new lifters how to master the classic exercises.
Within just a few weeks, you’ll confidently be able to strength train on your own.
Every few weeks, you’ll learn new exercises and keep getting stronger.
I’ve coached beginners of all ages, from 13-year-old athletes wanting to bulk up to 73-year-old grandmothers looking to keep up with their grandkids. (In fact, that 73-year-old went on to compete in powerlifting.)

Simply put – strength training is the best way to permanently transform your body.
If you’re looking to lose fat and keep it off – strength training is the most effective type of exercise.
It builds lean muscle, which will boost your metabolism and help burn additional calories.
“Toning up” really means losing fat and building some muscle, and that’s what strength training does.
Most importantly – many of my clients discover that they enjoy strength training.
It becomes their new lifelong hobby, and that mindset is the real secret to getting in and staying in shape.
I came to Devin because I wanted to start getting stronger and I had no idea how to get started. I appreciated that Devin took the time to listen to my goals and help me think about achievements, like developing my first push up, dip and pull up.

Injury Post-Rehabilitation is one of my top specialties.
Learn how to workout pain-free, even with chronic injuries and joint pain.
All I ask is that you are under medical care or have finished treatment – like physical therapy or chiropractic care.
I’ve helped clients with:
- Lower back pain (spondylosis, herniated discs, bulging discs, arthritis, lumbar stress fractures, etc.)
- Knee pain (Osgood-Schlatter’s, patellofemoral pain, ACL reconstruction, torn meniscus, torn PCL)
- Hip pain (labrum tears, hip dysplasia, snapping hip syndrome)
- Shoulder pain (rotator cuff tendonitis, labrum tears, arthritis)
- And many other types of joint pain
I’m not a miracle worker and I don’t claim to be able to treat injuries. All I do is teach people how to get stronger and work around injuries, pain-free. Often, that’s good enough to get you feeling better and back in the gym with confidence.

I’ll work with your physical therapist and doctor to collaborate on getting you back into great shape.
I’ve been injured and know just how frustrating it can be to bounce back. I’ve recovered from a hip labral tear, a herniated lumbar disc, shoulder tendonitis, golfer’s elbow, and a sprained Lisfranc ligament.
It’s made me a careful and knowledgeable coach. Despite my history of injuries, I’m the strongest I’ve ever been.

Member Spotlight: Maureen “Mo” McCabe Haughey
Meet Mo. Mo came back from hip dysplasia and a full hip replacement to walk pain-free, bench press 100lbs, and deadlift over 160lbs. She even took home a first place medal from a USAPL powerlifting meet!
I started working on with Devin in the fall of 2019 after a series of injuries from playing basketball, biking and weekend warrior activities. My goal was to get stronger to prevent the injuries that I was getting while being active. I went to his gym 2x a week and within a few months started seeing and feeling results.
Devin did a great job of assessing my strengths and weaknesses both before I started my program and during. The focus was on form and working around my injuries to start which I greatly appreciated.
I’ve managed to work up now to more advanced weight and exercises and am feeling better than I have in years.

1 - Book a free consultation call
Don’t worry – there’s no hard sell or obligation once you book a call with me.
I simply want to talk to you, hear all about your goals, and get to know you better.
If you’re a good fit for personal training, I’ll tell you about how to get started.
If you’re not a good fit, I’ll give you advice and recommendations on how to meet your goals in another way.
2 - Schedule an in-person assessment
Come in to meet with Coach Devin and you’ll talk about your:
- Health & Fitness Goals
- Medical History
- Preferences for Workouts
- Nutrition Habits
- Challenges or Obstacles
You’ll also go through a brief fitness screen. The screen tells us everything we need to know about writing a customized fitness program for you to follow. It’s used with both total beginners and professional athletes all over the world.
Assessments are $50.
3 - Start training
Coach Devin will start writing your training program right away.
When you come in for your first session, you’ll be taught your customized warmup and begin learning your strength training program.
Over time, Devin will update your program and teach you how to train independently.
Every session, Devin will watch your technique, coach you for improvement, and help you progress towards your goals.
